About our Pizza Parties
Young bridge players enjoy challenging competition and good food at the monthly Silicon Valley Youth (SiVY) Bridge party.
Kids with all levels of experience are welcome.
The pairs in the Contract Bridge section practice skills in bidding as well as play. For the pairs in the Mini-Bridge section, bidding is not required. Great prizes are awarded to all the winners.
Some bridge players play just for fun, new players learn to play Whist.
All the tables finish in plenty of time to eat yummy deserts before their parents arrive to collect them!
The SiVY monthly events are held to provide kids from our after school classes a chance to meet aspiring players from other schools and organizations. They are also a great way for kids who have learned from adult family to play bridge with other young people.

Twenty-four students gathered to play bridge at Gardner Boys & Girls Club in San Jose. The majority attend SiVY Bridge after school classes at the Gardner Boys & Girls club, the Levin Boys & Girls Club and Franklin Elementary School. Both Franklin and Levin brought students on buses to the event. There was also one attendee from Fisher Middle School in Los Gatos, two from Fremont and one from Sunnyvale.
Everyone competed in some form of duplicate bridge, with two tables playing bridge with bidding, while four tables played mini-bridge. The first place winners were excited to receive autographed copies of The Cardturner, while other chose from various bridge books and games. All enjoyed pizza and snacks, while practicing their cardplay skills.

Our bridge games are American Contract Bridge League (ACBL) sanctioned awarding masterpoints (MP) to high scorers. ACBL membership is not required for our games but is strongly suggested. You can join online or at the Bridge Center on the night of an event. Adult membership is $28 for the first year and junior membership only $15 per year. Both include a monthly print magazine and registration of masterpoints (start earning towards becoming a Life Master!).
