Junior Day at the 2019 San Francisco NABC

The North American Bridge Championships (NABC) was held in San Francisco in November, 2019. Little did we know it would be the last in-person Nationals for perhaps a year! The special Junior Day party and Youth Pairs games on Saturday, November 30 provided some of the best moments and memories of the tournament for over 100 young bridge players from the Bay Area and beyond.

On Junior day there were several special events. The Youth Pairs game was open to players under 20 years old with fewer than 50 Masterpoints. It attracted 41 players and for many it was their first tournament. Youth Pairs Results

There was also a special Junior Day party, which provided a chance to hang out with other young players and meet current and former Junior World Champions. Special guests who attended included ACBL’s youngest Grand Life Master, Zach Grossack, the Bay Area’s newest International Youth Winners from the SiVY B team Cornelius Duffie, Sarah Youngquist, and Kevin Rosenberg, and former World Junior Champions Dennis Bilde, John Kranyak, Ola, Mikael and Cecilia Rimstedt. Over 100 Juniors attended the event – enjoying each other’s company and eating and drinking to their heart’s content!

Junior Day 2019 was sponsored by ACBL District 21, Silicon Valley Youth (SiVY) Bridge, Center for Bridge Education (CBE), and Peninsula Youth Bridge.
