Team Event
On April 28, 2019 at the Palo Alto Bridge Center, high school students from six schools gathered to play in the team event of the fifth Bay Area High School Bridge Championship.
Six teams played in a round robin of five rounds of five boards each to determine which teams would advance to the finals. At the end of the morning session, Lynbrook High School came out on top in the round robin. Monta Vista High School finished second. After lunch, these two teams advanced and faced off in a twentyfour board match while most players who did not advance competed in the championship pairs game.
After the first half, Monta Vista was in the lead. In the end Lynbrook prevailed.
Pairs Event
Players from teams that did not qualify for the semi-finals and players from schools with an insufficient number of students to form a team competed in the afternoon in the Pairs Championship.
Elijah Schacter from Gunn High School and Madison Sayler-Tait from Leland High School won the Newcomer Pair award.
Michael Xu won the t-shirt design contest.
