Debbie Rosenberg This newsletter is coming out in the midst of our second annual Silicon Valley Youth (SiVY) Bridge Summer Camp. This year’s camp is two weeks, half days – a huge undertaking!
Besides providing a bit about the camp that’s in progress, this issue of the newsletter features a story of one of our newer undertakings – the Mentor Program. It also covers the upcoming 2015 Youth Nationals in Chicago, August 6th to 8th, where 14 players are being provided coaching and financial sponsorship by SiVY and Bay Area teams are competing in the finals of the Collegiate Championships.
Finally there are pieces about the flagship after school program offered by SiVY and a club at San Francisco’s Lowell High School which has been in place for over 7 years, sponsored by the Center for Bridge Education (CBE).
To accomplish all of this, many of our original founding volunteers still continue to generously donate their time and effort to our cause. But there is room for a few more – especially in some key administrative roles. Please consider joining us in our mission to inspire the next generation of bridge players in the Silicon Valley.
