President's Corner
Parents, Volunteers, Donors, and Youth Players,
Bridge is a game that can be enjoyed in many ways and for many reasons. Many players of all ages love the challenge of a competitive duplicate game or tournament, while others prefer the social aspects of playing at home or in a more casual, club setting. This issue of the newsletter highlights both social and competitive players and programs.
The lead story highlights our monthly events. The first such event was held in May, 2013 and 35+ aspiring players attended. Approximately once a month since, we’ve entertained groups of 30-60 players with pizza, snacks, prizes and bridge.
Also included are articles about SiVY successes at the summer Youth North American Bridge Championships (NABC) held in Toronto in July, the High School clubs and next year’s Bay Area High School Bridge Championships, and the recent Junior Training program.
Thank you for making Silicon Valley Youth (SiVY) Bridge a success! Without the support of each and every one of you, our Bay Area program to inspire the next generation of players could not exist.
