Margot Livenspargar, After School Program Head Teacher

One of our Founding Volunteers, Margot Livenspargar has been a consistent, dedicated force at SiVY. She taught at Castro Elementary in Mt. View for a school year, and then moved to Peterson Middle School where she is in her second year of teaching. Margot is also a frequent volunteer at our monthly Pizza Parties and was a table helper for a week during our 2015 Summer Camp.

Why? Margot’s words, “I love children. And I love bridge. Combining the two just seemed like a good idea.” She also talks of the game’s appeal as a game for all ages and times of life: as a youth, in college, during working years, and during retirement. “Bridge is a wonderful way to meet people. You can usually find a game anywhere you travel. Giving that asset to the children who are learning bridge makes me happy,” says Margot.

Recently Margot experienced a special moment at one of the monthly SiVY events. She beamed watching two of her 7th graders, second year members of the Peterson “Aces” club, as they proudly accepted their second place prizes. That, she said, was one of her favorite moments thus far as a SiVY volunteer.
