Mentor Program
We offer an individual mentoring program which matches school age youth with a non-family mentor. The mentor is an experienced adult bridge player who will meet with the youth player on an individual basis either at a local bridge club or on-line. The program objective is to assist youth who have enough knowledge of the game and can play comfortably in an open tournament against adults.
Youth will be matched with a suitable mentor depending on their skill level and mentor availability. The mentor and the mentee will set up their own meeting schedule during a 6-month period.
There is no charge for participation in the program. The mentee will pay his own fee, often at 50% discount, at club games and local tournaments.
The local Palo Alto Unit holds a special Pair game once a month on a Saturday at their Mountain View facility. This game includes a mentor-mentee section if enough pairs sign up.
