SiVY Bridge offers opportunities for its students and other youth players to gather at our monthly events and our Casual Fridays at the Bridge Club in Mountain View. September’s event was a special recognition of accomplishments by youth in the Summer Nationals and World Youth Bridge Team Championships in Istanbul, held on September 7. In October a special Pizza Party offered a chance for young players to earn masterpoints in a sanctioned event – or play just for fun.

On September 7, thirty-four students, ranging in age from seven to twenty-four, gathered at the Bridge Center in Mountain View for bridge, pizza, and cake. A highlight of the evening was a celebration of the recent bridge accomplishments of local young players. Read all about it and see the pictures.

On October 25, SiVY offered its Pizza Party event in conjunction with a local bridge tournament. A total of 32 young bridge players ranging in age from 4 to 18 arrived at West Valley College in Saratoga, site of the San Jose sectional. Some of them played two sessions of bridge, 20 boards in the morning and 10 in the afternoon. Others played in only one or the other of the two sessions, and a few played in other events at the sectional but came to share in the pizza. Read about winners and see photos.
