Youth North American Bridge Championships (YNABC)

The 2018 Youth North American Bridge Championships (YNABC) is being contested in Atlanta this weekend! SiVY Bridge once again offered its sponsorships, with 21 players participating. The sponsored players received mentoring, partnership assistance, and financial support to help defray travel costs. For example, during a special mentoring week at the Bridge Center, a total of 46 sessions were played by 19 of the SiVY youth attending YNABC.

This year’s participants include several of last year’s scholarship winners: Brent Xiao, Lucas Huang, and Rory Xiao. These three players have attended the YNABC all four years that SiVY has offered sponsorships!

In total 12 of the 21 attendees have attended the YNABC in the past. Attending for their third year in a row are Cornelius Duffie, Ezra Mowbray, Jonathan Shi, Nathan Gennaro, Olivia Schireson, Jonathon Youngquist and Sarah Youngquist. And in their second year competing are Ariel Flaster and Michael Xu.

All of these players are hopeful that they will win masterpoints, make new friends, and perhaps even come home with a trophy or scholarship.
